You will always receive local anesthesia for your surgery at our practice, with the option to supplement your treatment with sedation if desired. It’s important to note that sedation requires specific preparation on your part. To guarantee your safety and comfort, please carefully review and follow the instructions outlined below. Sedation Instructions
Prior to receiving sedation, it’s important to adhere to specific guidelines regarding food and beverage intake. Generally, patients receiving IV sedation should refrain from eating or drinking for a designated period before their appointment. Please follow the instructions provided by our team to ensure the effectiveness and safety of the sedation process.
Wear loose-fitting clothing to your appointment, particularly if you’re opting for IV sedation. Tops or shirts with sleeves that can be easily rolled up above the elbow are recommended for your convenience.
If you’ve already had a consultation with us, your prescriptions have been called in. Some medications may need to be initiated before your actual surgery, so it’s crucial to carefully read the instructions accompanying each prescription.
If advised during your consultation, consider taking 600mg of ibuprofen and/or 1000mg of acetaminophen one hour before your scheduled surgery.
If you’re scheduled for both consultation and treatment on the same day, please note that your prescriptions have not been called in. If you experience anxiety related to your surgery, follow the instructions provided for intravenous sedation.
